Week 14 Lab: Advice to Writers

Advice to Writers   My favorite interview was with John von Sothen. What stood out to me from his interview was the piece of writing advice he said has stuck with him all this time. He said that once he took a writing class and the teacher wrote on the board: If you are a writer and you do not write, then you are not a writer.  He explained how it was logic stripped down to its bare essence, and things like that appeal to me as well because it's so obliviously true that people don't normally think about it like that. He also said that dogs (or cats) are the best writing partners - and how could I not agree with that as well :)  "I took a writing class once and the teacher wrote this on the board. “If you are a writer and you do not write, then you are not a writer.” It was logic stripped down to its bare essence, and it stuck with me.
