Week 2 Story: Venus Kardashian and Mars Thompson

Once upon a time, long ago, there was a story of two celebrities. They were trying to make long distance work, for Tristan lived in Cleveland as a professional chariot racer and Khloe lived in Calabasas - she was the star of the most famous Greek play. Tristan was 6 foot, 10 inches tall - some would even call him a God. He was in a happy relationship with Khloe... until he wasn't. They were even expecting a child soon.

One day, Khloe caught wind that Tristan was having an affair. It wasn't even with a random goddess.. it was with Khloe's little sister's best friend. Practically a sister of her own. Khloe was furious. She was fuming. She wanted to post it to all of her followers, but didn't, knowing she could get greater revenge if she acted like she didn't know anything for now.

Khloe plotted to get Jordyn and Tristan at the same house party to see if it would happen again. Khloe herself didn't attend, because she figured that it would be less likely to happen, but she had set up a camera at the door of the house to make sure she didn't miss it if Jordyn had left, and had multiple of her friends there to watch and make sure nothing happened. Apparently, they were all over each other all night, but nothing set and stone. Finally, at 5:00am, once everybody started leaving the party, it happened.

At once, all of the paparazzi rushed to the windows of the house to see Jordyn and Tristan together, catching photos of them in the act. They had been caught - and Khloe had got her revenge. As everyone stood there laughing, their faces became bright red, obviously embarrassed. Khloe and Tristan's relationship ended right then and there.

Author's note: In this story, Venus was married to Vulcan. He found out that she was having an affair with Mars, aka Ares. To get revenge, he sewed a metal blanket to deceive the eye, and the next time they had an affair, all of the Gods walked in on them to see and laugh. I chose to retell this story with a twist: change the characters and spin off the Tristan Thompson/Jordyn Woods cheating scandal. Instead of Venus having the affair in my story, I changed it to Vulcan having the affair (Tristan). Instead of all of the gods finding out about the affair, it was the paparazzi.

  1. Hi Lauren! What an interesting and fun take on the original story of Mars, Vulcan, and Venus. Most people would not think it, but there are so many similarities between celebrations and the absurd stories we hear about gods and goddesses. I love how you saw that and made use of it. I look forward to reading your other stories! From reading this one it seems like they'll be fun.

  2. Hi Lauren! I loved your recreate of the story Mars, Vulcan, and Venus. When I clicked on your page and saw the picture of Khole and Tristan I was thinking to myself, this girl must be very creative. I think that the way you took this story and aligned it with one that has happened recently helped spark my ideas for stories creativity. I know that when I read some stories in this class, they can be hard to understand since these are from so long ago and the style of writing is different. With your take on this story, I understood the Mars, Vulcan, and Venus story more than before. Maybe for one of your next stories you could do a part 2 of this story with a different mythology story? This was a great story, I cannot wait for more!
